The lawsuit entitled Lisa Morris, et al. v. Bank of America, N.A. (Civil Action No. 3:18-cv-157-RJC-DSC) has been settled.

According to the lawsuit, “BANA” is the Defendant, Class Representativesor Plaintiffs are the persons who sued, and the case is referred to as “class action.”

The Class Representatives are acting on behalf of the three Settlement Classes. The transactions at issue occurred between July 1, 2014, and July 29, 2021.

Final approval for Morris et al. v Bank of America has been granted by a federal judge in North Carolina to a $75 million settlement between Bank of America and a class of customers.

An award of $25million for the lead attorneys’ fees and reimbursement of litigation costs have also been authorized.

These attorneys are awarded because they litigated the class’ claims that the bank improperly charged overdrafts and other fees to customers.

You may be entitled to a Morris vs Bank of America settlement payout by the end of March 2022 as compensation if you had savings/checking with Bank of America, N.A. (“BANA”).

Automatic Settlement Payout :

The court has approved the Morris v Bank of America Settlement payout; if you are entitled to Settlement payout or account credit, you are not supposed to do anything; rather, you will receive payment automatically until you exclude yourself from this Settlement.

A Settlement Class Member will receive a Class Notice, and you come in the record of BANA.

Right to Exclude from the Settlement :

You have the right to exclude/opt out of yourself from the settlement, meaning you will not participate in the Settlement. No matter if you exclude yourself from the Settlement payout but will keep your claims against BANA.

You are supposed to file a separate lawsuit/claim if you have chosen not to receive settlement payment but want to recover against BANA.

Check Payment To Settlement Class Members :

A check will be granted to Settlement Class Members (former customers of BANA) by the Settlement Fund; this check is expected by the end of March 2022.

The checks will be issued according to the terms of the Class Action Settlement Agreement. You will be entitled to an award automatically if you do not exclude yourself from the Settlement.

Reissuance Of Settlement Check :

You can request the Settlement Administrator to re-issue your Settlement check to a new address or name change.
